This fabulous renaissance property, once owned by Leonardo di Medici with its 300 hectares of vineyards and olive groves is also now owned by The University of Florence and doubles as the field station for the Oenology department. It is run as a non-profit organisation and, as such, the wines are phenomenally good value.

The Chianti Classico Tagliafune 2018 is already perfect in its balance and harmony - we're totally convinced that this has the beating of the other-worldly '16. The fruit is ripe and classy with aromas of violets, vanilla spice and tobacco. Nothing out of place - first class and astonishing value for money.
