CHATEAU DU RETOUT Cru Bourgeois Haut Médoc 2016.
The Kopp family bought two Crus Bourgeois and a Petit Château in the 1950s and amalgamated them to make Chateau du Retout. The same family still own the property and they have spent the intervening years rebuilding, replanting and creating wines of fabulous depth and character.
Liquorice, leather and marshmallow mingle with blackcurrant fruit and vanilla spice. A very accomplished showing.
